Long Day Is Long

Dammit if I don’t feel like Cid Highwind right now. I’m not sure if I want a gigantic cup of matcha-en (super-mega-uber PRIMO green tea) or a cigarette.
Which is funny because I rarely smoke. A hookah bowl two or three times a year at most. But since getting off of work a half hour ago, a nice heavy menthol has sounded great.
Sounded great. The stuff that you get out of the stores—even the premium stuff—doesn’t compare to the first smoke that I actually liked, but that particular smoke was a custom blend soaked in peppermint oil and rolled in a vanilla-infused paper. They don’t make those papers anymore and the peppermint oil lately has been decidedly subpar. I think my jones right now more deals with the fact that I NEED STIMULANTS GRRR *chomps on satin hairscarf.*
Combine this with the fact that hot smoke hurts my throat and makes it start to close up, and I’ve got a problem. Looks like it’s tea until I can fix my vaporizer. Eh, I need to lay off the nicotine anyway. I’m not supposed to have it on the beta blockers. (A shame, this. This year’s boutique menthol is positively splendid.)
I’ve got to pound out 2.3K words, and all while listening to the jackass to the left of my apartment blares his old scratchy pirated CDs. It shouldn’t be difficult. My favorite shows have been pre-empted by holiday specials that are in no way relevant to my interests (Call me back when Charlie Brown’s on), and I’ve already gotten a wind up going.
I’ve decided what I’m doing if I win (besides buying Scrivener’s full release): I’m going to sit down and watch the first season of MLP: FiM in one sitting (roughly), and then start Gintama.
Meanwhile…work.

Did I just recognize a root word? Was that 'tamago?'
I hear the root word 'tamago' I think of 'tamagoyaki'
and promptly get hungry because mmm tamagoyaki…where's my skillet?. …HEY I JUST THOUGHT OF A WAY TO MAKE MYSELF LEARN JAPANESE MUCH EASIER. ASSOCIATE EVERYTHING WITH FOOD. I'D BE FLUENT IN HALF A YEAR IF I DID THAT.Huh? What? Oh. On topic. *chortle*
I am usually not a fan. The smoke gives me a headache and the nicotine gets my heart to doing this stupid thing that I can only describe with the sound effect "FLADDAFLADDAFLADDA" (probably another reason why I should lay off the nicotine. That and the beta blockers). But once in a blue moon—I dunno, I gotta have one. Just one. It's easy enough for me to stop at one. Heck, I'd settle for bumming one off a friend but the only other person I know who ever smoked Bensen & Hedges was my mom.
And then, unless my system is in fact screaming STIMULANT NICOTINE CAFFEINE WHICHEVER YOU GET FIRST, the stuff gives me one of those pounder migraines. I bet I know what happened. I spent the last four days completely off caffeine. And I mean (HAHAH) cold turkey.

I fortunately have never had a nicotine craving thanks to only trying a smoke once (it wasn't even that - just a puff) and HATING it but I do get pretty bad caffeine cravings. There are some days when I can't even settle for tea - I NEED COKE DAMMIT! (I also have a sweet tooth which might explain it.) Considering how grouchy I am for the first two or three hours after waking up I can actually go "OH YES CAFFEINE!" when I drink coke that early.
*begins phone typing. Should be sleeping. 3AM nearabouts*
This was the first time I can remember wanting nicotine specifically—usually it's just caffeine: COFFEETEACOLACOCOAMATÉ NAO *BOOM* Takes three teas or two coffees before I'm of any use in the morning. Speaking of, I'd best be getting in a nap. Now that the random fireworks are quiet, that should be a lot easier....
I just noticed that entire top line is disjointed. Oh well. Too late at night. Need to sleep like now.
and then caffeine ginseng morning whooo
