Sorry, it had to be said.  His Ex Burst is my favorite for a reason, after all.

Cuz I’m answering both and no Cloud or Squall is going to stop me.

Favorite In-Game Party

 

I’m kind of partial to the 012 scenario duo of Firion and Kain.  When Kain runs into Firion, it starts the cutest little slashy thing.  Firion’s so upbeat and outgoing, and Kain doesn’t seem to know what to do with it.  He just keeps up his trademark deep thoughts and “I’M BATMAN” stoicism.  As you progress, Kain does relax…slightly.

Then he stumbles onto a summonstone.

Firion:  Kain, is that…?

Shiva:  Allow me to lend you my powers.  Trust in my northerly winds.

Kain:  Firion?

Shiva:  What’s wrong?  Come to me…

Firion:  Um…

013 hasn’t happened yet.  So there are a few possibilities here:

1)  Deliberate call-forward by the writers,
2)  LAMIA FLASHBACK,
3)  Timescrew, or
4)  This isn’t Firion’s first cycle, and this happened in 011, too—meaning that Shiva’s one hell of a stalker with a crush.

Either of these is fine with me.  The point is, I can’t help but like this duo, even when you KNOW what Kain’s going to have to do at the end.

For the record, option 4 has my full support.  FOR THE LULZ.

A close second would have to be—and I know this will surprise a few of you out there, because since when I have I shown myself a sympathizer with this group?—589.  There’s just something about their dynamic.  They provide some much needed comic relief in a storyline that gets a little darker every time you turn around.

 

 

Favorite Choice Party

 

Not surprisingly, it’s the team that was behind my 000 victory: Kain, Laguna, Prishe, Lightning, and Vaan.  Each member covers a weakness of the others.

Anyone wanting to see why this is, if you have the NA region DDFF, I’ll construct my party and pimp them out.  Fair warning, everyone’s SSS Vicious except Laguna and Prishe—they’re SSS Valiant.
