Pain in the ass that I currently face—upon closer read that may in fact be a physical impossibility...
Thanks to a friend of mine who I now probably owe big time, the data is all safe, including the huge bank of music that I no longer have operational discs for or just cannot be assed lolpirating on account of the damage/out of print status and the documents that contain the opus are safely backed up in Dropbox.
Hindsight: the other items in the writing folder are NOT backed up in Dropbox; I probably should have. Luckily the file folders were all clean, so Goddess willing this should be a non-issue.
The real pain in the ass will be the reinstalling and reauthorizations. I can't find the receipt that contained my serial number for Scrivener, and it's kind of essential for what I'm doing. The other program that I use, OmmWriter—its receipt I found right away. But it's looking like I'm going to have to contact their support team. And who knows how many days I'll lose in that kerfuffle.
You would not believe the pain in the ass that I currently face.
