First night sleeping at the new place

As I turned the key in my lock - closely followed by my boyfriend who carried my housewarming gift of 20 pounds of jasmine rice - I turned to the power switch and flipped it up. Nothing immediately happened. Nor did anything happen later.
"Power must not be on yet," he muses.
"I suppose not!" I look around some more, as my eyes adjust to the low light. The rice lands in the tiny pantry as I go to the biggest thing there, the view. Quite shiny. Skyline of the Gateway Arch at night, I had never really seen it from that vantage point before. It also provided just enough illumination to be able to see my airbed. The twin airbed has my green sleeping bag on it as a cover sheet alternative. Topping that is my thick blanket, made in the style of my job.
I do the tour.
"Living room, bedroom, dining area, den."
It's a studio. We don't do much moving around. Heh!
After we part ways - I didn't have a permit for him to stay over - I take in the place again. Finding nothing objectionable (besides lack of electro-juice) I sink into my mattress and doze.
Around two I realize my clock wasn't set. I set my Treo and roll back over.
Three. Roll back over. The quiet will take some getting used to.
At 6:15 I rise, feeling rested for once. After rummaging for a uniform I go to the elevator. It runs slowly but gets wher it is going, and I disembark at ground level.
That leaves me here, at the bus stop. Dawn provides much-needed illumination and I see a familiar split in my scrubs. I've grabbed an ancient pair that should have been ragged long ago.
... Well. I did get dressed in the dark.
