Screwing around with my notebook, I came up with a scene that I'm way too proud of. I figured I'd share it.
It's untitled original fiction, rated PG-13 (because I've not decided whether or not I want to expand on it yet.)

Lauden watched Ebon carefully. After following Paulsen out of the brig, he led the apprentice to an adjacent room. Its walls were lined with coathooks. Instead of coats, however, they held handcuffs, shackles, whips, and other tools of prisoner subjugation. Without letting Ebon leave his sight, he pulled something off one of the hooks with each hand.
“These will do nicely,” he said to the room, not expecting a response from Ebon.
“What?”
“I said, ‘These will do nicely.’ I suppose your hearing isn’t…”
“No. I’m not wearing those,” Ebon said petulantly, pointing to the items Lauden held. In one hand he held a long, fine-link chain; in the other, a leather collar.

It is probably obvious where this is going.
