A Note: 100 Things will return on the first of the month. I’ve been trying to post the same entry for several days with no successes to be had, but I think I’ve found the problem and once I’ve booted it the hell out of my system, the uploads should WORK PROPERLY and I’ll be able to get things going again.

Got an ear infection? Suspect it?

DON’T wear closed environment headphones. Even at a nice volume the heat’ll make you hurt so damned bad you’ll wonder if being deaf is better.

Of course, this coming from someone who uses nothing BUT closed-environment, hi-definition, audiophile-approved cans.

This meant that today’s indulgence, the Humble Music Bundle (go to humblebundle.com, like seriously), was awesome but painful to listen to. I was delighted by the offerings contained in the bundle, but one went out of its way to knock me flat on my ass with its beauty.

Calling All Dawns, the debut album of Christopher Tin, contains a track that some of you will know right away thanks to a Civ addiction: Baba Yetu, the theme that opens Civ IV. The upbeat, joyous tone of the song drew me in, but it wasn’t until the second track that I realized that I needed to go ahead and snag this immediately.

This MIGHT work…

I realize that LJ’s been having a few issues with flash, so if that doesn’t work, hit this link here and you’ll be able to hear the first thing to physically knock me backward with its otherworldly beauty since the glory of Distant Worlds. I barely know a hundred words of Japanese and it still turned out that my uneducated brain managed to produce the PERFECT synaesthetic movie show for me to watch.

(What was that, spellcheck? I am NOT deleting that ‘a’ just because you disagree with its location. YOU LIKE AESTHETIC, YOU WILL DEAL WITH SYNAESTHETIC, GODS DAMN YOU.

I could go on and on…only problem is, I’m supposed to be sleeping.
